The True Value
Both the antiques and the auction scene as a whole do not see great innovations or creative actions that value the user experience.
What is the best way to make the experience of an antiques auction more interactive for buyers and, at the same time, help show the true value of the exhibits?
Using motion sensors and a special device created by Sound Thinkers, we were able to bring to life pieces that were on sale in one of the most traditional auction houses in southern Brazil. Selected pieces had a label signaling for auction participants to approach the play, putting their ear on its surface to hear their story. The biography was given from the point of view of the piece itself, thus, in addition to the buyer knowing the story behind every possible purchase, they could also have fun with the different personalities played by voice actors.
